Tom I speaking on the History of AA at the Mini Conference held in Asheville NC.

Tom has long been a highly regarded speaker in AA. The podcast will be featuring "Tom Tuesday" until we run through his library.

Tom I became sober at the age of 28, attending an AA meeting in a maximum-security prison. He had been sentenced there after he killed two teenagers during a blackout. Upon his release he dedicated his life to carrying the message of recovery to other inmates. He was the first former prisoner hired to work within the prison system. His journey eventually took him from prisoner to warden. Tom was sober over 65 years at the time of his passing in 2022.

Shawn S and Larry R conducted this workshop on How it Works at Work at the 42nd Atlanta Mens Workshop. They open the meeting telling a bit of their stories and how to apply the principals in the workplace.

There was some Q and A that was unintelligible and I removed it, I put in about 2 seconds of click track so you would know where that was and not wonder why it jumped topic a bit. I also removed a couple of questions at the end for the same reason...fyi

The Little Red Book

In 1942, Ed W. began teaching the “Twelve Step Study” classes that helped the Minneapolis Group achieve their 75% recovery rate. Then in 1946, he and Barry C. (The first sober A.A. in the state) published the lectures used for these classes as a book. Initially titled The Twelve Steps, it was affectionately nicknamed “The little red book.”

Back in print for the first time in more than 65 years, the original 1946 edition reveals firsthand how some of A.A.’s earliest members made the program their way of life. Everyone from newcomers to oldtimers will find a wealth of practical experience in this comprehensive guide to the Twelve Steps.
