Peter M and Chris R lead this workshop with a focus on sponsorship at (I think) the RTR conference held in November of 2007. This runs about 7.5 hours. I know next to nothing about this event, both of these guys are very popular speakers and both have spoken all over the world at AA events.

I originally posted this series in 2017, after 3,400 Sober Cast episodes I am a bit better at audio cleanup, so I have gone back through and reworked the files a bit to improve the quality. This is about the best copy you will be able to find. Part 3 of 6.

Chuck C. was born in 1902, and got sober in A.A. in January 1946.

In these 1975 recordings of Chuck C. at the Pala Mesa Men's Retreat, Chuck shares his experience, strength and hope about recovering from alcoholism. He tells how he recovered from being a "tongue-chewing, babbling idiot drunk".

The Pala Mesa Men's Retreat had 64 AA men attending, these recording were made by one of these men on a small tape recorder, and the recording quality isnt fantastic but it is listenable.

This series of talks was eventually transcribed into the book "A New Pair Of Glass" The book is still available if you would like a copy https://scast.us/npog

I try to be a week or more ahead when it comes to scheduling the episodes, that way if life gets in the way Im not worried about something for tomorrow. well this week life got in the way and Im adding this episode a few hours before it publishes.

That said as I was checking my email right before I started working to get this up for you and had a listener submission that was recorded just last week.

I dont have a great deal of information about it other than this is Brooke, she has 15 months sober and is telling her story at a meeting called G2.

I do also have a little request for you out there, it is a bit difficult to come across speaker meetings by folks that have 1-3 years sober and I would really like to feature more of them. The Little Red Book

In 1942, Ed W. began teaching the “Twelve Step Study” classes that helped the Minneapolis Group achieve their 75% recovery rate. Then in 1946, he and Barry C. (The first sober A.A. in the state) published the lectures used for these classes as a book. Initially titled The Twelve Steps, it was affectionately nicknamed “The little red book.”

Back in print for the first time in more than 65 years, the original 1946 edition reveals firsthand how some of A.A.’s earliest members made the program their way of life. Everyone from newcomers to oldtimers will find a wealth of practical experience in this comprehensive guide to the Twelve Steps.
