This one was a bit of a bear, it is a pretty well known speak called "The Chalk Talk" it was presented many times by Father Joe and there are many versions of it around. The hard part was finding one that didnt have truly awful sound. I spent well over an hour working on this audio and I think it ended up pretty listenable.
Father Joe got sober in 1958 at The Guest House, it was founded and operated by Austin R, who came across a copy of the Saturday Evening Post article on Alcoholics Anonymous. As a result Austin R began his journey of recovery through AA, eventually opening The Guest House. Father Joe met Austin on his first day at The Guest House, he also was introduced to Dr. Walter G, himself a recovering alcoholic. Dr. G was the first to talk about the intellect and the emotion and how drugs and alcohol cause the emotions to over-rule the intellect.
Father Joe deeply admired Austin and was so impressed with Dr. G's lectures, that he saved his notes and 14 years later would use them as the source of his famous "Chalk Talks". The occasional clicking you hear in this speak are the source of the name, as Father Joe is writing on the chalk board.
Im not sure why it took me so long to post anything by Father Joe, but I have well over 50 speaks by him, email me if you are interested in hearing more from him.

I was really sad to hear about Leslie passing yesterday. I heard him speak at a conference up in Canada a few years ago and I have never laughed so hard in a speaker meeting. Sadly this is the only speak I have ever been able to find of his.
Leslie J a very funny guy that carries a great message about learning to live the steps. "Is he gay or just european?" LGBTQ (Repost)

Kip C is from Vista California he is speaking at the 2nd Annual Men Among Men Group Retreat in Reykjavik Iceland held in March of 2005. Both his parents were Native American and Irish one loved to drink and the other loved to fight, as you might guess that leads to quite a story told with both humility and humor.

I have one of these and it is one of my favorite items, a really excellent and useful for book study meetings or as a gift to a newcomer who is going to be heading to one.
The First 164 pages of The Big Book with lined blank pages opposite each page of text for note taking.
Paragraph numbers along side the text for easy reference. Entire Original Manuscript (about) including the stories. Easy to read retyped version. Includes paragraph numbers corresponding to the modern text for easy comparison.
Footnotes explaining historical and obscure references in the text.
Footnotes documenting all 79 differences between the modern text and the original 1st printing text of the 1st 164 pages (about). Yes, believe it or not, the basic text has been changed 79 times since it was first published.
Two place keeping ribbons. Special "lay flat" binding.
