I was thinking the topic of gratitude might be a good one for the day after a holiday, searching my archives for a recording with that as the main topic I ran across this one from AA founder Bill W. Bill starts with the topic of gratitude and moves on to his story and how that led to the creation of AA at an unknown event.
This is from June of 1954 and I was able to remove the nasty hum it had, the result is a pretty good recording for 1954. This runs just a little over an hour and the first 40 min the sound quality is pretty good all things considered, the last 20 min the sound isnt as clear, it gets a bit more muddy and I couldnt fix that but it is listenable and if it annoys, turn it off.

How it works read by Bill W. I have wanted to put this up for a while and had not really found a place for it, xmas seems like a good day and time to let it stand on its own, I hope you have a very nice holiday. (I posted this last year on xmas and I think that's going to happen every year)
